The first speaker talked about an exchange with his teenage daughter behind a podium. It was his first challenge to incorporate vocal variety and body language, but he successfully delivered his speech with effective gestures and colorful vocal variety. At the end of his speech, he shouted raising his fist confidently because his intention to connect with her worked successfully.
What I found interesting was that everybody who followed including impromptu speech speakers and evaluators at the venue delivered their speeches without the podium. Although it was the first experience for members who joined after the COVID-19 outbreak, everyone tried hard to use their bodies and the stage.
While many people might feel awkward delivering a speech without the podium, good use of your whole body and the stage will make your delivery more effective. Why don't you learn and practice the skill with us? You will be an inspiring speaker like Steve Jobs.
